Do Hedgehogs carry fleas?

Yes, Hedgehogs sometimes do have fleas. The fleas are red or brown in colour and can sometimes be seen crawling through the Hedgehogs fur or spines. The fleas are passed down from the mother Hedgehog to her young, but may also be passed in others ways too. The fleas that live on a Hedgehog cannot live anywhere else. If they were to be transferred onto a human, cat, dog, or anything else, it would know it was in the wrong place. The flea would then drop off and wait for a Hedgehog.
